Dark Talon (Gamble Commission)

This griffin is a paint your own piece produced by Windstone Editions.  On the forum there I offered a single first come first served 'Gamble Commission'.

"Choose a pyo sculpt from any I would normally paint (no muses or bookends). Pick out colors you would want and anything you just could not stand seeing (i.e. you can’t stand butterfly designs). Give me free reign (+3 months painting time). I will paint something for you using the colors you chose and leaving out elements that would disappoint you."

Whatever was painted would be a OOAK piece because I would not duplicate it's scheme for anyone else.

The colors I was given were gray, red and black.  I suggested adding gold as an accent color (which was agreed to).  'Dark Talon' is the result.  He's not done in my normal color range so he was a great chance to get outside my comfort zone.  I'm very happy with how he turned out.  He's painted in acrylics and his clear coat is satin.

To end, this wonderful sculpture is copyrighted to Windstone Editions and M. Peña. I only did the paint job on him.
